ALEXANDRIA, VA, September 30, 2026 — The North American Renderers Association (NARA) applauds the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry for advancing the Agricultural Act of 2026 on September 16. NARA thanks Chairman John Boozman (R-Ark.) for his leadership. The association urges Chairman Boozman, Ranking Member Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), and members of both parties to build on this progress and deliver a bipartisan Farm Bill.
The bill includes several longstanding NARA priorities:
- More than doubling MAP and FMD funding, which helps expand international markets for U.S. agricultural products, including rendered products.
- Dedicated funding for renderers, marking the first time rendering has been specifically recognized in a Farm Bill. The new funding and regulatory guidance will help renderers and small processors expand capacity, modernize facilities, and strengthen supply chains.
- Support for regionalization agreements, which protects trade from unaffected regions during animal disease outbreaks.
“These provisions represent meaningful progress for the rendering industry and the broader livestock supply chain,” said Kent Swisher, President and CEO of NARA. “They will help keep U.S. rendering globally competitive while supporting American farmers, ranchers, and the agricultural economy.”
As the bill heads to the Senate floor, NARA will keep pressing to ensure rendering priorities are reflected in a final Farm Bill.
