ALEXANDRIA, VA, March 27, 2026 — The North American Renderers Association (NARA) commends the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s finalization of the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) “Set 2” rule, calling it a major win for American energy, agriculture, and sustainable feedstocks.
NARA praised President Trump and EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin for their leadership in advancing policies that strengthen domestic biofuel production and support rural economies. The rule sets the highest renewable fuel volumes in the program’s history, driving increased demand for biodiesel and renewable diesel and the essential recycled feedstocks that renderers provide.
“Under President Trump and Administrator Zeldin’s leadership, this rule reinforces America’s commitment to energy independence and recognizes the critical role of sustainable, low-carbon feedstocks,” said Kent Swisher, President and CEO of NARA.
NARA noted that the rendering industry is well positioned to help meet growing demand by supplying recycled fats, oils, and greases that support the expansion of renewable fuels.
