ALEXANDRIA, VA, December 20, 2023 – The North American Renderers Association (NARA) is excited to announce the return of the International Rendering Symposium to be held in conjunction with the 2024 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta. Hosted by NARA and U.S. Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY), the symposium will begin at 12 p.m. Thursday, February 1, and continue through Friday, February 2, starting at 9 a.m. in room B-405 of the Georgia World Congress Center. A networking cocktail reception will be held on Thursday night for all speakers and atendees. Registration for the Symposium is $250 and can be added after registering for IPPE.
About the International Rendering Symposium
Rendering’s contributions to animal agriculture’s economic and environmental sustainability across the globe is critical; yet rendering often remains an “invisible industry” when topics like animal food production and the circular economy are discussed. Symposium topics were selected with the goal to shed light on the multitude of ways rendering bolsters and supports international markets, and global sustainability. View the agenda here.
Day 1 begins with topics in the Poultry and Pet Food category. Presentations include Lifecycle Data on the Sustainability of Rendered Products for Pet Food; The Pet Food Market in Latin America; and The Use of Animal Proteins in Chicken and Egg Production, followed by a speaker panel. The day then continues with a second session discussing Low Carbon Intense (CI) Ingredients with presentations on Impacts of CI Scoring on the Food, Feed, and Fuel Industries; The Truth About Food vs. Fuel – What the Historical Data Shows; and a comprehensive Market Outlook. Closing the symposium’s first day, all category presenters will return to the stage to join a speaker panel and answer audience questions. A networking cocktail reception will then be held in room B-406 for all Symposium speakers and atendees.
Day 2 kicks off with presentations from the Aquaculture industry starting with Lifecycle Data on the Sustainability of Rendered Products for Aquaculture; followed by The Use of Rendered Proteins and Fats in Aquaculture; concluding with a Latin American Aquaculture Market Review followed by a speaker panel. Closing out the final day of the Symposium will be a session on International Markets featuring presentations on Global Anti-Oxidant Supply, China: Making Moves to Reduce Food Loss & Waste, and International Market Intelligence.
